Medvedev has congratulated Putin on a victory on elections

The president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev during a meeting in the Red glade has congratulated Vladimir Putin on a victory on presidential election, informs RIA Novosti news agency.

"Result absolutely convincing, and it shows that citizens of our country trust that course which was spent by our state last years", - the head of the state has declared. Medvedev has noticed that before Putin it is necessary to provide a problem defensibility and safety of Russia.

In turn, the operating prime minister, having thanked Medvedev for a congratulation, has noticed that will work in interests "all Russian people, without dependence from party preferences". He has underlined that the president should be "надпартийным". Now Putin is the chairman of "United Russia", however in party doesn't consist.

According to Putin, they with Medvedev have already started consultations on formation of new structure of the government. Earlier Putin promised that Medvedev becomes the prime minister in its government.

The day before, on March, 7th, the Central Electoral Commission of the Russian Federation has summed up presidential election. The candidate from "United Russia" Vladimir Putin has typed 63,6 percent of votes. Its nearest persecutor - the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov - has received hardly more than 17 percent of votes.

Before Vladimir Putin German chancellor Angela Merkel, the prime minister of Great Britain David Cameron, the president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez, the president of Iran have congratulated on a victory Mahmud Ahmadinedzhad, the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and other politicians.

US president Barack Obama yet hasn't congratulated the selected head of Russia. The State department of States has expressed readiness to cooperate with Putin, however has demanded to investigate the infringements fixed during elections.

Vladimir Putin has won on presidential elections in the third time. He headed Russia with 2000 for 2008, and after Dmitry Medvedev's election (with result 70,28 percent of votes) became the prime minister. According to the Russian Constitution, the citizen of the Russian Federation can be on a post of the president no more than two consecutive times.
