The euro to dollar increases

The euro against the dollar increased on Friday against the background of the Minister of Finance of Germany, Wolfgang Schäuble.

In particular he stated that the eurozone economy will, if necessary to cope with the release of the Monetary Union of Greece, as well as news about the loss of U.S. banking giant JP Morgan in April, according to the auction.
As of 19:15 GMT the euro strengthened against the dollar to 1.2939 dollars per euro from 1.2936 dollars per euro on Thursday. For the Japanese currency the dollar fell to 79.88 yen per dollar against 79.92 yen per dollar by the end of the previous auction. The dollar to a basket of six currencies of countries - major trade partners of the United States decreased by 0.06% - up 80.15 points, RIA Novosti reported.
According to Schäuble, the Government of Germany still hopes that Greece will remain a member of the eurozone, but the crisis is necessary for the fulfillment of the requirements of international lenders.
The growth rate of the euro against the dollar contributed to the news from the bank JP Morgan, who in April suffered a loss of $ 2 billion in its trading portfolio. Given such a significant loss of private sector arm of JPMorgan Chase plans to complete the second quarter with a loss of about $ 800 million, although previously expected a profit of $ 200 million."The news is supported by the European currency, but I think their impact will be limited. In the euro area are still many uncertainties, and Greece is now more than ever close out of it" - says a senior currency strategist at Rabobank International Jane Foley (Jane Foley), comments which lead agency Bloomberg.
A more significant drop in the dollar exchange rate prevents the positive macroeconomic statistics from the U.S.. The index of consumer sentiment, University of Michigan, according to preliminary estimates, rose in May to 77.8 points from 76.4 points in April.
