Russia and Ukraine will revise the price of gas

Russia is ready to review gas contracts with Ukraine signed in 2009 with the participation of ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. However, this information has not yet found a formal confirmation in Russia.

"The leaders of Russia have agreed to seriously consider the proposals and arguments of Ukraine on gas supplies in the near future, so we went back to the issue of revision of the contract, which obviously puts Ukraine in unequal competitive conditions," - said Azarov.

However, this statement questioned the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich. "I have such data has not yet happened. Consultation with the Ukrainian side is constantly being" - said Deputy Prime Minister. He stressed that Russia is concerned about how the situation will develop with the gas in Ukraine, in particular, whether any disruptions to the supply of gas to Europe.

The deputy head of the Kremlin administration Dmitry Peskov said Russia is based on the existing gas agreements with Ukraine. "We believe first and foremost on the availability of existing legal agreements, natural gas, according to which natural gas supplies are made," - he cites RIA Novosti. He added that "Russia was, is and will be ready to listen to our partners, listen to their arguments."

It should be noted that Ukraine is constantly complaining that "Naftogaz" gets the fuel is more expensive than other European partners, "Gazprom". Earlier, the head of "Naftogaz Ukrainy" Eugene Bakulin said that the average price for imported gas from Russia to Ukraine in 2012 will amount to $ 440 per thousand cubic meters, according to news agency "Rosbalt".
