Producer prices in Russia have fallen for the first time since January

Producer prices of industrial production in Russia in May declined by 2.4% compared with the previous month, according to Rosstat. In annual terms in May, prices increased by 3.1%. Since the beginning of the year, inflation in industrial production was 1.1%. In April the rate grew by 0.6% in March, the increase was 2.1%. This year, prices were falling (except May) only once - in January (-0.2%).

According to authorities, the mining sector, the fall in prices in May was 8.8% (in April was 0.5% growth). The increase in prices in the manufacturing sector was 0.1% (in April - 0.9%) in the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water drop was 1%.

The highest inflation in the May industrial production was in Tuva (5.6%) and Sakhalin region (+5.3%). The most noticeable deflation recorded in the Tyumen and Orenburg regions (-9.9% and -6.3% respectively).
